UNIT 7 - (5th grade)

In unit 7 we have studied REPORTED SPEECH. We use reported speech to report what somebody else said. Remember we change the tense from present to past.

DIRECT SPEECH: I like ice cream (said Sally).
REPORTED SPEECH: She said she liked ice cream.

We use said when we just report someone's words.We use told when we want to say who the person was talking to.

Time expressions also change in reported speech:

tonight	that night
tomorrow	the next day
next week / year /etc.	the next week /year / etc
yesterday	the day before

UNIT 6 - (5th grade)

In unit 6 we continue learning about future tenses. We have learned differente uses for GOING TO.
Remember, we use GOING TO to:

• talk about future plans or intentions.
• make predictions about things we can see.

UNIT 6 (6th grade)

In UNIT 6 we have studied the PASSIVE VOICE again, but this time with FUTURE and PRESENT PERFECT.

First of all, here you have a chart with a summary of all the tenses we have studied in units 5 and 6:

	Too much food is thrown away these days. Dolphins aren’t kept in cages.
PAST SIMPLE	was / were wasn’t / weren’t	Past participle
	Ice cream was invented by the Chinese. Rome wasn’t built in a day.
PRESENT CONTINUOUS	is /are being isn’t / aren’t being	Past participle
	My car is being repaired. The walls aren’t being painted.
FUTURE	will be won’t be	Past participle
	Planes will be flown at the exhibition. The park will be cleaned next weekend.
PRESENT PERFECT	have / has been haven’t /  hasn’t been	Past participle
	The TV has been repaired. The tickets haven’t been sold.
